Non commissioned officer in Army Special Operations where among other things I was: a psychological warfare team leader, paratrooper, linguist, and co-deployed with green beret teams worldwide. I later became a skydiver and private pilot and travelled the world extensively. At my first big startup I was a founding exec and helped write the S1, did the road show and took an enterprise software company public in the very heady days of 1999, when we were the third most successful IPO of a very big year (dot.com 1.0 also had a lot of character building for execs like me on the way down ;-) From that and my previous military experience I realized I had found my calling: small teams, seemingly impossible tasks, limited resources and the importance of vision and leadership. From there I became a serial entrepreneur… nine startups now, where I’ve been a founder, exec or investor/advisor and I’m hooked. Some wildly successful, some not so much, many on the right trajectory… and this UBIX rocket ship (!) where we have the best team and most disruptive vision yet. Beyond this career focus, I'm the lucky husband of a beautiful woman way out of my league and two amazing boys.

Chief Data Scientist, VP Product Management
Drew first tackled analytics in 1991 with his thesis on interpretations of an ancient Chinese text used as a decision engine. More than twenty years ago, this passion for the arcane and complicated led him to becoming a digital artist turned self-taught programmer to solve magic squares and generate Postscript visualizations. For the last ten years, Drew has built machine learning bridges inside Fortune 10 business analytics through real time solutions and mentoring hundreds of professionals in becoming data scientists. Adding ventures of his own analytics practice taught him the only thing funner than reading history was writing your own story. As his third startup, UBIX piqued the thrill of trying to change analytics history. In our brief time together, Drew already fulfilled many life-long dreams with UBIX, including leaving an executive role to be its first employee. The greatest dream fulfilled for Drew so far has been building bioinformatics for cancer genomics research. But then again, Drew’s just getting started.
Rick Lamoreaux has been active in tech startups since the late-90s dotcom boom. He was a founding developer for a network automation product that started as TrueControl and through a series of acquisitions has ended up as HP Enterprise's Network Automation product. He also co-founded LetsPour, the one-time largest online Craft Beer retailer. He joined UBIX as a senior developer and has since taken on the role of VP of Engineering. Rick has served in almost every role in software development, from coding to architect to management. He is passionate about finding the fastest and best way to solve a problem, and his experience has been almost exclusively with small, massively over-performing teams. He thrives on the challenge of finding the right path from vision to real-world solution. Outside work, Rick plays ice hockey with his wife, enjoys his gardens and cooking. He lives in the Seattle area with three French Bulldogs and a flock of chickens. Oh, and Go Hokies!
